Greetings and thanks for wandering around the landscape of A Shot of Orange Juice.
Again, I know it's not much to look at, but there is only one of me.

For the last three years, I have been working at a company called Massive Incorporated. Where are ultimate goal was to place advertising in video games.
The job was great, and some of you may know that Massive was acquired by Microsoft just before I started working there. This turned out to be an interesting blend. As there was many startup mentalities going around, which let some small things get done extremely fast, but there also had some of that big-company red tape and political structure in place. It does open some nice doors, including our tight relationship with the Xbox team.
Either way, it was facinating seeing the gaming industry up close. Interacting with the people who are responsible with entertaining you for hours was a great experience, and I appreciate all of the people that worked at Massive during my time.

At this time, I am in search for a new job. I still know I want to program and still love to problem solve. If you are here poking around, as a potential employer, please consider carefully. Not only do I enjoy solving problems, but as my former manager found out. I'm quite flexible in which tasks I can be placed on. I wore many different hats, and shifted back and forth as the tide came and went.
I've turned some of my free time back into my website, and more specifically Global Skirmish, a conquer-the-world style board game. I've always been a huge fan of board games, and while I want to be able to try my hand at the german style games, I feel starting with a familiar classic-style would be a good start. This game is designed to be playable on an actual board, but programmed online for accessibility and to ease some of the tougher aspects of the game that might require look-up tables.
At this point, GSkirm is javascript w/ the Google Maps API frontend. With a PHP to SQL backend. Everything I've programmed up myself, for better or worse. And I'm still working on improving things as I balance my time between job searching and the like.

For those curious what exactly the origins of the website is. "A Shot of Orange Juice" is a reference to a badly made mixed drink. It can be phrased towards any bad drink, but works best with drinks made with Orange Juice. Most specifically a Screwdriver. Here's an example of use of the phrase:
Chris made the Screwdriver so strong I needed a shot of orange juice to go with it to appease the burning vodka flavoring.
